Q: I will be meeting a friend in Shanghai at the end of June. We will have 5 and a half days in China and then an extended 4-day layover in Japan. While I wish we had weeks instead of days, such is the nature of life. We are considering spending time in Shanghai, Zhejiang province (Hangzhou), Jiangsu province (Nanjing), Tokyo and Kyoto. Any recommendations on cities/sights that we should add to or subtract from our tentative itinerary? Many thanks.
