Robbie Tobeck, center Ht.: 6-4. Wt.: 297 pounds. College: Washington State. Experience: 12th season. Nickname: "The Hobbit." What he does best: The clear leader of the offensive line and perhaps the overall leader of the team. Tobeck is popular among his teammates because he keeps the mood light while displaying a non-stop motor when it comes to blocking. Like Gray, he’s a seasoned veteran who is self-motivated. Tobeck makes all the calls on the offensive line and is responsible for forming the huddle between plays. Undrafted when he entered the league in 1993, Tobeck has become one of the NFL’s most reliable and durable centers, despite never having played in the Pro Bowl. "I don’t quit, I give everything that I’ve got and I try to get everything out of myself that I can. I’m just a scrapper and fight my ass off," Tobeck said. Where he needs improvement: At times, raises his hands too high when getting into position. Skills could be on the decline this season because of advanced age and wear and tear. The Lav Line: "He’s a veteran with a lot of years. He’s smart. He has great leverage." Jose Miguel Romero Bill Laveroni gives his comments in The Lav Line. The past two seasons, Laveroni was the team’s assistant line coach, and he takes over this season for Tom Lovat, who retired. Lovat spent 12 years working for coach Mike Holmgren.
