A three-year letter-winner at the University of Washington, where she graduated in 1997, Savasta, 25, is a 5-foot-8 shooting guard on the French national team. She attended college for two years in France before becoming a Husky. Savasta became a Husky partly because of her association with ex-Husky Karen Deden on a first-division club team in Nice, France, last season and partly because of her friendship with another former Husky, Katia Foucade, of Paris.
