Track, in 1,600-meter relay pool

Hooker, a Northwest prep legend for his record-crushing 100-meter and 200-meter times as an Ellensburg High School sprinter and young Washington Husky track star, did not qualify for an individual event in Sydney, but will be in the U.S. 1,600-meter relay pool. A 21-year-old Husky junior, Hooker has dominated the sprints at the Pac-10 level, but has spent the past two years struggling with injuries and jumping on and off lists of the nation's elite sprinters. An on-again, off-again Husky wide receiver, Hooker sat out the past football season to concentrate on track, and will sit out this season as well.
