2005 Roster/Bios

Randy Winn

Contract status: Signed through 2005, with mutual option for 2006.

Acquired: From Tampa Bay for INF Antonio Perez on Oct. 28, 2002. Deal was contingent on Lou Piniella signing as manager with Tampa Bay.

Personal: Lives in Tampa, Fla., with his wife, Blessings. Played baseball and basketball at Santa Clara University. Won a car (that he gave to his mother) by making a half-court shot at a Los Angeles Clippers game in 2002.

2005 outlook: Winn will be the left fielder, and will hit seventh. If youngster Jeremy Reed falters in center field, Winn has plenty of experience there. Outside of Ichiro, Winn was the Mariners' steadiest player last season.
