2005 Roster/Bios

Scott Spiezio

Contract status: Signed through 2006, with club option for 2007.

Acquired: Signed as a free agent, Dec. 17, 2003.

Personal: Has read the top-10 list on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and has appeared on "The Tonight Show." Plays in a garage-rock band, Sandfrog.

2005 outlook: A lot of sitting and pinch-hitting. Spiezio lost his spot at third base to Adrian Beltre (and a .215 season in 2004), and won't get many chances at first base either, with Richie Sexson there. Spiezio will get some at-bats as a designated hitter, particularly if Raul Ibanez has to move back to the outfield.
