The book on
Jaime Moyer

Out pitch: Changeup arrow

Throws two- and four-seam fastballs, 81-84 mph, and spots them as well as you possibly can. He pitches with his fastball as if he throws 91, confident to both sides, up and down. Yes up, even at his velocity. He recognizes the need to pitch inside. His changeup is so good teams try to take it away by playing lefties, following the old baseball saying that lefties should never throw changeups to lefties. His change is so good, he'll backdoor it or throw it inside. The cut fastball is another pitch Jamie has complete mastery of. In fact, the curve is the only pitch he doesn't have mastery of. He uses the cutter to combine velocity with a breaking ball, throwing it in on right-handers' hands.
