September '04: A long season comes to an end
What a month of highs and lows for the Mariners. Most losses (99) since 1983, bottom of the AL West and firing of Bob Melvin. But with the lows came the highs.
The celebration and culmination of the Edgar Martinez' incredible 18-year career in Seattle. Ichiro breaking the all-time single-season hit record of George Sisler. The M's right fielder surpassed the 257-hit mark and finished the year with 262 knocks and a place in the record books.
