The Seattle Storm have given the city its first major sports championship since 1979. Here's what readers had to say:

It is the greatest moment for this city and the Storm as a whole. The dedication and teamwork exhibited by all the players really came through during the Finals. What a great pick-up Betty Lennox turned out to be! Go Storm. Let's repeat! Seattle should be proud of this team!
— Duane Crosswhite, Puyallup

The girls are so wonderful. They have won for the people of Seattle and all their fans around the world. Seattle should be proud of this team!
— Tony Cianciolo, Sydney, Australia

More than anything else, I am so impressed with the players and the total team effort. Anytime a team functions as a machine and does what they do best, it is always a pleasure to watch! I am very impressed with this team. Given the age of the Storm's superstars, this could be a dynasty in the making! Congratulations on a super season! Seattle should be proud of this team!
— Al Garcia, Yakima

Congratulations to the Seattle Storm! It's nice to have such wonderful role models for my two boys (7 and 10) to look up to. The players are class acts both on and off the court. Tonight they showed their quality! Seattle should be proud of this team!
Kari Austin, Portland, Ore.

I've been a fan for so long I still have a Lynn Dunn bobblehead. It's been such an amazing ride watching these athletes and I can't say enough about the great job Coach Donovan has done with this team. Seattle earned this championship fair and square and I can't wait to watch them defend it next season. Congratulations to the Storm! Seattle loves you!
— Andrew Jones, Bellingham

In May 2004, I couldn't get my article on the Seattle Storm published with the paper I work for.  There didn't seem to be an "interest" in women's basketball. Thanks for proving some wrong.  Congrats on a wonderful season!
— Jenny Bocko, Cheney

Go Storm! It's great to see a group of nice, unjaded athletes hoist a championship for once — Seattle should be proud of this team!
— Leisel Oliver, Hartford, Conn.

The Storm has not only inspired Seattle with excellent team basketball, it has also reached fans across the world. Congratulations to the 2004 World Champs! They truly deserve it!
— Amity Tan, Manila, Philippines

Finally a franchise with the T-E-A-M spirit ... passing the ball, taking the time to set up plays, and giving the extra effort.  was proud to be a part  even from the stands.
— Shelbi S., Seattle
