Stop 1 The Brick, Roslyn The state's oldest operating saloon was built in 1889 and was featured in the TV series "Northern Exposure." It is a bar-restaurant and has an under-21 section that is open until 9 p.m. Roslyn is Exit 80 off Interstate 90, and The Brick is about seven minutes from the freeway. Another Roslyn attraction is the cemetery of this former coal-mining town, where different ethnic groups and organizations have their own burial sections. The Stop 1 sites we recommended in 2002: Owens Meats (great jerky) and Cle Elum Bakery, Cle Elum (they are across the street from each other).
