Guide

How to read your program

The racing program is a pamphlet you can buy at the racetrack. It contains basic information about that day's races at Emerald Downs, plus info on races that are being simulcast that day.

Reading a program for the first time may seem confusing, but once you find out what all the numbers and symbols mean, you'll be handicapping with the best of them.

Reading the Daily Racing Form

Many serious handicappers buy the Daily Racing Form before making their picks. You can often purchase the Racing Form in your neighborhood convenience story, or wait and buy one at the track.

The Racing Form contains far more information than the program. You'll find complete listings of past performances for all the horses entered that day.
