WIAA/Seattle Times State Athletes of the Week

CLASS 4A

Andy Gorder, Wilson cross country — The senior won the prestigious Fort Steilacoom Invitational, finishing the three-mile course in 16 minutes, 18.34 seconds.

Courtney Thompson, Kentlake volleyball — The senior, who has orally committed to Washington, had 131 assists and 19 aces during the Kentlake Invitational.

CLASS 3A

Dezman Cole, North Thurston football — The senior rushed for 249 yards and two touchdowns in the unbeaten Rams' 13-6 victory over Rochester.

Emily Silver, Bainbridge swimming: The junior, a two-time All-American and two-time defending state champion in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, met state-qualifying standards in four events ‹ 200 individual medley (2:10.92), 100 breaststroke (1:08.20), 400 free relay and 200 medley relay.

CLASS 2A

Justice Maidesil, Foster football — The junior rushed for 346 yards, four short of the school record, and scored four touchdowns in a 41-21 victory over Vashon.

Breanna Siebol, East Valley of Yakima cross country — The senior won the Prosser Invitational (2.87-mile course) in 18:33.

CLASS 1A

Josh Bousman, Tacoma Baptist football — Bousman, a senior, rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns to lead Tacoma Baptist to a 28-6 victory over La Conner.

Jaymie Earheart, Concrete volleyball — Earheart recorded 14 kills and five aces to lead Concrete to a five-set victory over Kent View Christian.

CLASS B

Travis Lindgren, Curlew football — The senior rushed for 480 yards and eight touchdowns in a 66-46 B-8 victory over Mansfield. His yardage total is the fifth-best in state B-8 history.

Jordan Graeme, Klickitat volleyball — The senior recorded 40 kills to help the Vandals (6-0) win the Wasco Tournament.

The WIAA/Seattle Times State Athletes of the Week are selected each week by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and The Seattle Times from nominations by athletic directors around the state.
