Class 4A
Vanessa Hileman, Kamiakin girls soccer: Hileman had four goals and three assists in the Kennewick team's 8-0 victory over Davis of Yakima. She has 15 goals this season, second most in the Big Nine Conference, and has scored in six of Kamiakin's eight games. Ryan Staudacher, Lake Washington football: The junior quarterback set a KingCo Conference (4A and 3A) record with 460 passing yards in the Kirkland school's 20-10 victory over Juanita. He broke the record of 426 yards, set Sept. 12 by Skyline's Zach Habben in a 28-20 loss to Mercer Island. Staudacher completed 27 of 40 passes with two touchdowns and four interceptions. He leads KingCo 4A passers with 1,285 yards in five games. Class 3A
Jessica Warner, Selah volleyball: The Vikings senior just missed a triple-double with 13 kills, 21 digs and nine blocks in a match against West Valley of Yakima. Andrew Von Lossow, Nathan Hale boys golf: Von Lossow shot a 4-under par 32, the best nine-hole score in the Metro League this year, in a match at Jefferson Park Golf Club. After a bogey on the first hole, the Hale sophomore birdied five of the final eight holes. Class 2A
Riki Creger-Zier, Steilacoom volleyball: The senior captain and setter had 70 assists, 27 digs, five kills and 11 aces during the week to help the Sentinels stay unbeaten. Keith Schmidt, Medical Lake football: Schmidt, a senior, intercepted a pass, made 17 tackles and rushed for 49 yards in the sixth-ranked Cardinals' 27-7 victory over Deer Park. Class 1A
Faye Wagner, Royal volleyball: Wagner, a senior, had 35 kills and 13 blocks and was 32 for 34 on serves in two matches. Zach Quinby, Ocosta football: Quinby carried 40 times for 207 yards and a touchdown in a 35-28 victory over Raymond. The Wildcats junior also scored twice on two-point conversions, made five tackles and intercepted a pass. Class B
No Class B athletes were nominated. The WIAA/Seattle Times State Athletes of the Week are selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and The Seattle Times from nominations by athletic directors around the state.
