Questions for candidatesWhat are the biggest differences between you and your opponent(s)? I will never vote for any pay raise for myself or any other politician at anytime, so long as any essential services are under funded by even one penny! I will push for performance & financial audits of every state agency to be performed by an outside independent agency (you should never have the fox guarding the hen house), to weed out waste! Get the state out of the Liquor store business, which belongs in the hands of private enterprise. Also look for and push to get the state out of any other businesses which belong in the private sector! Do you support the initiative to raise the sales tax 1 penny to raise money for schools and higher education? NO... it's just like the LOTTERY... that was supposed to go directly to education and it doesn't, who's to say they won't do the same here. Until they get their act together I say NO!!! They have more than enough money; they just need to spend it properly and in the right places for the right things! Are you happy with Washington's new primary? Are you supporting the initiative that would give Washington a "top 2" primary system that the parties oppose? We had a primary system which worked for over 70 years… now while the Democrats and Republicans remained in power and there was no real threat to their grip on power they continued to have no problem with this system… then the Libertarian Party gained major party status in 2000 which they viewed as a coming threat, so immediately a lawsuit was filed in court against the blanket primary system, which was nothing more than an attempt to take away your true right to freedom of choice… I believe it is time to bring back individual freedom of choice! No, I support the system we had which worked for nearly 70 years! What do you think of the initiative to expand the use of slot machines to reduce taxes? I support fair and equal competition in the marketplace... the only businesses that will get these machines already have gambling licenses (which do not exist in residential neighborhoods) and offer gambling already, it just puts them on a fair and even playing field with the Indian tribes... what's wrong with that?
