Questions:

1. Are you in favor of the proposed 10-cent-a-cup "espresso tax" scheduled for the September ballot in Seattle?
No. Initiatives are a cumbersome and constrictive attempt to solve problems and often either backfire or otherwise fall short of the goal. I believe child care to be a pressing issue, one that would be best addressed through comprehensive leadership and community collaboration, not just a new tax.

2. Is Seattle too accommodating or too hostile to business?
Both. It's perhaps too hostile in some ways to smaller business in terms of restrictions and red tape; however, our local government then overcompensates by granting larger corporations an inappropriate degree of favoritism, to the detriment of the local economy overall.

3. Has Mayor Greg Nickels been successful in leading Seattle city government? Explain.
He's been successful in establishing dominance, but that's easy when the council is so passive. I think his leadership and agenda are mediocre and detrimental to the overall socioeconomic climate.
