1.  Do you support or oppose the proposal to establish charter schools in Washington state? Explain why.
Briefly, since the public doesn't seem to give a damn about reforming public education, I'm interested in exploring school choice. But I oppose the "Paul Allen" charter-school bill (I-729), partly because of Paul Allen.

2.  How would you use your office, which has no budget authority, to improve public schools?
I'd use my office as a bully pulpit for speaking the TRUTH about education, blowing the whistle on corruption and malfeasance and rallying the public. I would NOT cheerlead for corporations and crawl into bed with the WEA, Paul Allen, Gov. Gary Locke and other corrupt elements.

3.  Is reform needed in the financing of public schools? If so, what would you propose?
Yes! And it MUST start with a MANDATORY independent performance audit of the Seattle School District BEFORE it hits voters with a mega-levy in February 2001. And when the results are in, heads should roll for incidents of corruption and gross malfeasance such an audit would certainly uncover.
