Why are you running for this office?
I will take a cooperative, pragmatic approach to Congress, which is now run by extremists. My opponent, Rick White, has voted with the Newt Gingrich agenda 93 percent of the time. We deserve someone who thinks more independently, especially when we are paying him $133,000 a year in our tax money!

What will be your top three priorities if elected?
1. Head Start, lunch funding; direct student loans; good-student tax credits
2. strengthen the Clean Water Act
3. tax incentives for upgraded skills; raise the minimum wage
