School Closures
On May 17, Schools Superintendent Raj Manhas announced he was backing off his proposal to close schools in the 2006-07 school year. He also abandoned the idea of reassigning K-2 students to new schools that year or eliminating the Garfield High School assignment guarantee for students in the Accelerated Progress Program.
