Submission guidelines
We welcome letters, e-mail and stories to be considered for publication.

Letters to NEXT, including e-mail: Must be 300 words or less, and must include your full name, city, state, phone number and e-mail address for verification. NEXT will not print anonymous letters. Letters and e-mail become the property of The Times and may be edited for publication. Complete the above form, or send to The Seattle Times/NEXT; PO Box 70; Seattle, WA. 98111.

Stories/opinion pieces: We will consider only stories that adhere to ALL of the following. They must:

  • Be relevant to young people (ages 15 to 25 or so).
  • Have an opinion.
  • Be no longer than 500 words.
  • Every number, statistic and statement (other than direct quotes) must be attributed to a source. Readers need to know where the information came from.
If printed, stories may be edited for publication. Stories are subject to The Times' policies on copyright and reuse. The Times does not pay for unsolicited printed stories. NEXT will not consider anonymous opinion pieces.
