Several factors contribute to the region's economic prosperity — including consistent population growth and a successful, highly entrepreneurial business sector.

Note: Median represents the middle value. Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue MSA (Seattle-Tacoma area) refers to the Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. Seattle-Tacoma DMA (Western Washington) refers to the Designated Market Area, which includes King, Snohomish, Chelan, Clallam, Douglas, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Thurston and Whatcom counties.
