Smarty Pants
This Georgetown gem oozes urban sophistication, from its interior scheme of raw brick and saturated wall color to its plentifully stocked bar, but the real measure of its savoir faire lies in its deceptively simple menu: appetizers, a few salads, chili and a list of 15-or-so sandwiches. You'll find a Reuben, a cheesesteak, a grilled cheese, a BLT - all fresh, wildly flavorful, tweaked uniquely and six-stories high. The Gringa, pulled pork refreshed with lime on a mayo-slathered grilled French roll, is transcendent. Vegetarians are well considered here, too.
