Summer reading: WNBA All-Star Edition

So, the WNBA All-Star game and fun is done -- Storm All-Star Swin Cash putting on a show from her Michael Jackson moves during player introductions to her winning the MVP trophy. But you still have a couple of days before the WNBA resumes play on Tuesday.
Well, how about some WNBA reading? You can start with the latest book to be published about the league. Author Alex Chambers is a Phoenix Mercury fan who traveled around to see all 13 teams in in 28 days in 2009 (Sacramento hadn't folded). He dubbed his trip "13 Teams, 1 Journey" and set out on one of the most remarkable experiences any sports fan could have, gaining access of a beat reporter with locker room passes and accessibility to players.
His book, "13 Teams: One Man's Journey with the WNBA" (Team Effort Productions, 286 pp., $13.99) is available at Amazon.com.
For articles, Cash's entrepreneurial exploits were written about in the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Minnesota rookie Maya Moore wrote her own piece about pay and labor when being a professional women's basketball player. Here's the link.
Not into reading? NBA-TV provided a roundtable with legends Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Lynette Woodward and Tina Thompson. You can checkout the segments on WNBA.com.
And if you missed the WNBA player intros before Saturday's game, you should seriously watch this. NBA All-Stars started dancing a while back and it's good to see the WNBA getting into the act. Too bad the reserves couldn't play along, All-Star Seimone Augustus is always fun to watch in Minnesota's traditional boogie after home wins at the Target Center.
