Storm's Ashley Robinson blogs from NBA All-Star weekend

The NBA All-Star game is in Storm C Ashley Robinson's backyard and the Dallas native has agreed to blog for you from the weekend's festivities. Robinson is already tweeting (@missarob43) about various events, including meeting former First Lady Laura Bush and doing some charity work at Vogel Alcove Childcare Center.
"Just left Vogel Alcove. It is like a day care for homeless children. I know more than ever that I want to adopt. thank god for Vogel," Robinson posted Wednesday morning.
Robinson (and 1,500 others) is scheduled to create and refurbish eight playgrounds, schools and homes across North Texas on Friday. She'll be at the NBA Jam Session Tweet-up and is expected to be part of the celebrity game. The 6-foot-4 former Tennessee standout is one of 11 current players making the rounds at the midseason classic.
Robinson (pictured right by the WNBA) will blog daily, beginning Thursday. So, look for it here through the actual NBA All-Star game on Sunday.
While the experience will be good exposure for the Storm and WNBA during the highlight event -- which Mavericks owner Mark Cuban aims to make bigger than the Super Bowl -- there's a little-known fact about Robinson's appearance. Outside of when Seattle had Lauren Jackson back early as she recovered from ankle surgery, the player that represents the Storm during the offseason doesn't fair well in making the final roster (think Kristen O'Neill, Jamie Redd, Charmin Smith, etc.).
It's a thought that wasn't lost on Robinson when she spoke with local reporters covering All-Star weekend. Robinson, an unrestricted free agent, said she has yet to sign a training camp contract with anyone and reiterated that Australian C Suzy Batkovic-Brown is unlikely to return.
The Storm signed forward Le'coe Willingham on Tuesday and coach/director of player personnel Brian Agler stated he wants another young post. Agler speaks favorably of Robinson, who he wanted to develop more this season. But with a shrinking salary cap and a need to build a championship-caliber team to keep the stars happy, Robinson's future appears dim.
"I'm ready to fight for my position," Robinson told Hoopfeed.com.
It's becoming her yearly mantra. So, stay tuned for more from Robinson.
