LA Sparks making a run; Lauren Jackson dealing with back

Seattle had three days in between games, so coach Brian Agler took a moment to spread a little news. Seattle is second in the West, but with Los Angeles' thrilling overtime win against San Antonio tonight, the California nemesis is on the rise.
The Sparks, seeded third if the playoffs began today, are on a four-game win streak.
"I'm kind of staying away from it, but Brian kind of whispers in our ears," said guard Tanisha Wright of playoff talk. "Not literally, but he's just letting us know what's going on, that we need to be aware of it. But I don't think it's anything we need to worry about. We just need to worry about ourselves."
The Storm (14-11) has nine games remaining headed into Saturday's matchup with the league's top team in Indiana (19-6). But only three of Seattle's final games are against conference opponents, not giving them much chance to hurt their foes.
Los Angeles (12-13) also has nine games left, six at home. The Sparks knocked the Storm out of the opening round of the postseason last year.
"Since I've been here, we've been making the playoffs," said Wright, a fifth-year pro. "Not taking it for granted, but you kind of know the whole process. You know it's going to basically come down to you taking care of yourself. That's how I see it because ever since I've been here, it's come down to us taking care of our games in order to get in. I think that trend continues."
Seattle went through a short 1-hour session with a few players under the weather, but able to play on Saturday. Storm F Lauren Jackson (pictured right by the Associated Press) practiced, but looked as if in pain when she exited the training room after treatment.
Jackson, who suffered a back injury in Atlanta, said she was scheduled to meet an acupuncturist that evening to help heal the injury.
"The back has been sore, but there's not much I can do about it," said Jackson, who is still seeing a chiropractor, too. "I hate needles. It [the pain] is probably pretty much the same right now."
