Monday, March 20, 2006 - Page updated at 12:21 PM A day to put some spring in your step
Here comes the sun, sort of. The Earth and its star mark the vernal equinox — the start of spring — at 10:26 a.m. today as the sun's center crosses the celestial equator into the northern hemisphere. With the end of winter, night and day are nearly the same length and we'll continue to see longer days — but not golden rays. After today, clouds and showers are likely for the Seattle area most of the week. "It's gonna be kind of dreary," said National Weather Service meteorologist Johnny Burg.
