Wednesday is still expected to deliver the biggest snow punch
The Seattle-area is still expected to be walloped with snow on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologist Dana Felton said that the city should anticipate up to 10-inches of snow - an amount the region hasn't seen since 1996.
Much of the city is getting a break before the storm this morning, he said. Snow showers we're seeing now will continue into the evening in outlying areas.
"Today, nothing much is going on. We still have some snow showers going on, mostly in the Central and South Sound," Felton said.
Temperatures in much of the region today will remain in the 30s.
"The big event comes tomorrow," Felton said. "Snow will start here in the metro area at 4 in the morning and taper off in the evening hours (Wednesday)," Felton said.
Another quick blast will hit the region on Thursday morning, Felton said. But by Thursday afternoon the snow will turn to rain.
