"The Baseball Project" performing tonight at The Tractor
Posted by Larry Stone
One of the coolest groups around, The Baseball Project, will be performing tonight at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle.
For those who don't know what this is about, check out this article, or watch this video from their performance on Letterman.
The Baseball Project is a super group of sorts, comprised of Steve Wynn from Dream Syndicate, Pete Buck of R.E.M., Scott McCaughey of Young Fresh Fellows, and Linda Pitmon, the drummer from Wynn's band The Miracle 3.
They've put out an album called "Volume1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails," which includes such baseball-themed songs as "Gratitude (for Curt Flood)," "Satchel Paige Said," "The Death of Big Ed Delahanty," and "Harvey Haddix."
Apparently they are also doing a new mp3 every month for ESPN, the latest of which is "30 Doc,'' a song about whether Roy Halladay can win 30 games this year.
(Psst, guys: No way. Twenty will be a stretch).
It should be a good night of rock and roll. If you go, let us know how it was.
