Kent police have released a surveillance photo (right) of the man they believe was involved in last Wednesday's shooting aboard a King County Metro bus in Kent.
Police were called to the 20600 block of 108th Avenue Southeast at about 6 p.m. after a 24- year-old SeaTac man was critically wounded in a shooting. Witnesses say the two men argued and the younger man pulled out a gun and shot the other man twice in the torso. The gunman then walked to the front of the bus, pointed the gun at the bus driver and demanded to be let out.
A search of the area with a police dog found a gun that may have been the weapon used in the shooting. Investigators also found what police call NASCAR-style coat with emblems of NFL teams worn by the suspect a short time after the shooting (photo below).
Working from witness accounts, detectives now have surveillance photos that show the same suspect at a Tukwila Transit Station on April 18, two days before the shooting. Police believe that the suspect is a frequent bus and light-rail passenger who often wears similar clothing. Police hope that he will be recognized by other public transit users.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Kent Police Department at 253-856-5808.
