Child struck by Metro bus in U-District

A 2 1/2 year old child was injured Monday when he ran in front of a Metro bus in the University District.
Seattle Police said the bus was traveling north on University Way Northeast approaching Northeast 50th Street when the child ran from the sidewalk into the path of the bus. He was knocked to the ground by the bicycle rack on the front of the bus.
The child suffered minor injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. No citations were issued.
