Body found in Lake Washington was missing kayaker
Posted by John de Leon
-- From Times staff reporter Christine Clarridge:
A body that was pulled out of Lake Washington on Wednesday has been identified by the King County Medical Examiner's Office as that of a Bellevue man who disappeared last month while kayaking.
Christopher Rominski, 46, was reported missing on Feb. 12 after he failed to return home. Divers searched an area of the lake for three days after Rominski's vehicle was found in a parking lot and a witness reported seeing someone fall out of a kayak about 200 yards off shore on a day that had turned stormy, police said.
A City of Bellevue utility worker discovered the body while inspecting the shoreline in the Newport Shores neighborhood, according to Bellevue police.
The Medical Examiner's Office says Rominski drowned.
