Pedestrian killed in accident near Lake Goodwin

Posted by John de Leon

A man was killed early Saturday morning when he was hit by a car south of Stanwood, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

A 20-year-old woman was driving on 156th Street Northwest near Lake Goodwin when she struck the man while he was walking near Lakeview Avenue. The woman thought she had hit an animal so she drove to her home and told her parents.

The woman's parents went to the scene and found the man's body and called 911 around 3:30 a.m.

The victim is between 18 and 25 years old.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, the sheriff's office said. The crash remains under investigation.
