Bicycle and pickup collide in North Seattle early Thursday

A Seattle man was injured early Thursday when he ran a red light at the intersection of North 145th Street and 1st Avenue Northeast and was struck by a pickup, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The bicyclist, who suffered a broken femur and facial and head injuries, was taken to Harborview Medical Center following the 6 a.m. accident. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the State Patrol.The accident backed up traffic in the area.
