Woman sexually assaulted outside Lake City Way store

Posted by Cathy McLain

From Times staff reporter Nick Perry

A 50-year-old woman who'd parked outside a retail store in North Seattle was reportedly sexually assaulted Wednesday by a man wielding a baseball bat and a knife, according to Seattle police.

At a little before 4:30 p.m. the woman was leaving her car outside the store in the 13000 block of Lake City Way Northeast, police said. The suspect approached the woman and pushed her to the ground near some trash bins, threatened her and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The suspect ran from the scene and hasn't been found.
