Man arrested for firing pellet gun at Aurora Avenue signs

Posted by John de Leon

Around 12:30 a.m. Monday morning, several people reported that someone was firing a rifle from the roof of a business in the 8900 block of Aurora Avenue North. Officers arrived and saw what appeared to be four individuals on the roof with a pellet rifle, which they were firing toward Aurora.

Police surrounded the building and arrested three suspects without incident. A fourth suspect was arrested as he tried to run away.

The suspects were taken to the SPD's North Precinct, where one man claimed to be the only one who had fired shots. He told police he was shooting at business signs across Aurora, and did not think he had struck any cars or people.

There were no reports of anyone being struck by pellets.

The 26-year-old man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of unlawful use of a weapon. The other three suspects were interviewed and released. The pellet gun was submitted into evidence.
