UPDATE: Pedestrian struck on Aurora Avenue N. dies

UPDATE: The pedestrian struck last night while crossing Aurora Avenue North has died at Harborview Medical Center.
The driver who struck the pedestrian was evaluated for any signs of impairment, but none were found, police said. The driver was interviewed and released.

A pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries Thursday night after being struck while crossing Aurora Avenue North, Seattle police said.
A man was trying to cross Aurora on foot around 8:12 p.m. Thursday in the 4400 block, police said. He made it across the northbound lanes, but was struck by a car in the southbound lanes.
The man was treated and taken to Harborview, police said. Southbound Aurora was shut down while detectives investigated the case.
