Police arrest suspect in pair of Seattle armed robberies

A 50-year-old man suspected of robbing a gas station and a thrift store atby knife-point on two different days this week has beenwas arrested by Seattle police.

Police say that on Monday at 8:06 p.m., a lone adult male confronted a female clerk at a gas station in the 500 block of South Dearborn Street, and demanded access to the register. He stole cash and lottery tickets before he fled, and the clerk was left with had a cut on her hand.

On Tuesday at around 8:13 p.m., a lone adult male robbed a thrift store in the 1000 block of Fourth Avenue South, police said. He grabbed one of two female clerks by the throat, held a knife to her and demanded money, police said. He took cash from the register and fled on foot.

Robbery detectives subsequently developed information that led them to a motel in the 8900 block of Aurora Avenue North, where they found the suspect in a unit and arrested him without incident, police said.

The suspect, 50, was booked into the King County Jail on investigation of robbery.
