Fire destroys two mobile homes in Kent

Posted by John de Leon

A fire early this morning has displaced two Kent families.

The fire was reported at 3:20 a.m. at two mobile homes in the 23600 block of 30th Avenue South. When firefighters from Kent and SeaTac arrived, one mobile home was already fully engulfed in flames, which had spread to the second home.

The occupants of both homes were able to escape, although several people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and sent to local hospitals, according to Kent Fire Capt. Kyle Ohashi.

A total of eight adults and six children have been displaced, Ohashi said.

A Kent fire Investigator is working to determine the cause of the fires. No damage estimate was immediately available, but both homes were considered a total loss, Ohashi said.
