State Patrol seeks witnesses to I-90 crash

Posted by Cathy McLain

Written by staff reporter Lynda V. Mapes

The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to a serious accident that occurred in the westbound lane of I-90 in Preston on Thursday evening.

Detectives want to talk to anyone who saw a large tarp fly off a vehicle, probably a semi truck, towing a flat bed trailer.

The tarp caused a serious crash at about 5:50 p.m., when the driver of a 2007 grey Ford Focus traveling westbound swerved to avoid the tarp lying in the lane of travel. The driver lost control of the car, which left the highway, and flipped into the median. The driver, a 37-year old Snoqualmie resident, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The car was destroyed. Several passing motorists also reported being hit by flying debris.

Please call Detective Stacy Moate at 425-401-7746 with any information.
