Man who killed himself during Lynnwood traffic stop identified

Posted by Nick Provenza

By Sara Jean Green

The man who shot and killed himself during a traffic stop in Lynnwood last week has been identified as a 33 year old of Everett, according to the King County Medical Examiner.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, a Lynnwood police officer pulled over the man's car in the 20500 block of Highway 99, a couple of hours after Everett police had alerted local law enforcement agencies that a suicidal man was reportedly driving in the area, police said at the time.

A Lynnwood officer saw a car matching the description of the man's vehicle and pulled it over in a business parking lot.

The man got out of the car, faced the officer and shot himself.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died on Nov. 18, a hospital spokeswoman said.
