Posted by John de Leon
UPDATE: The Discover Burien Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver involved in this hit and run.
The King County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday that left a man in critical condition.
A 36-year-old White Center man was in a crosswalk at 16th Avenue Southwest, and Southwest 106th Street, around 5:20 p.m. when he was struck by an SUV or pickup. The driver slowed but did not stop and was last seen driving south on 16th.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition.
A driver's-side outside mirror was found at the scene. There should also be damage to the left front fender.
The vehicle is believed to be maroon and either a Chevrolet or GMC. It is one of the following models:
GM or Chevy full-size pickup 1988-1989
Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy 1992-1994
Chevy Suburban 1992-1999
GMC Yukon 1992-1999
Chevy Tahoe 1995-1999
Anyone who may have information on the vehicle is asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at 206-296-3311 or 911.
