Worker injured in four-story fall in Lynnwood

Posted by John de Leon

A man installing carpet at a new hotel in Lynnwood was injured this morning when he fell four stories from a window, Lynnwood police said.

The accident occurred about 10 a.m. at a Holiday Inn Express in the 2500 block of 196th Street S.W. The 45-year-old man was offloading carpet that was extended in the air four stories up from the exterior of the building by a forklift. As he was offloading the rolls of carpet he fell from the fourth floor to the sidewalk below.

Lynnwood Fire Department's Aid and Medic units rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where his condition was not immediately known.
