Pedestrian hospitalized after being struck by bicyclist

A pedestrian has been hospitalized with a severe head injury after he was was struck by a bicyclist at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to Seattle police.
The bicyclist was heading north on Beacon Avenue South, approaching South College Street. The pedestrian stepped into the road intending to go west on Beacon Avenue South and was struck by the bicyclist.
The pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center with what was later determined to be a non-life-threatening injury.
An officer determined that the bicyclist was not impaired.
