Woman complies with robber, gets hit anyway
Posted by John de Leon
-- From Times staff reporter Sara Jean Green:
A woman was held up at gunpoint on Seattle's Capitol Hill Tuesday night and was struck in the face after she handed over her money, according to Seattle police.
Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to the report of a street robbery in the 1800 block of East Republican Street, police said. The victim told officers she was approached by a man who appeared to be holding a handgun. He immediately demanded money and she complied, according to police.
The man then turned, struck her in the face and ran away, police said. The victim wasn't seriously hurt and declined medical attention.
A police dog was unsuccessful in tracking the man's scent and the man remains at large, according to police.
