A Kent man was fatally shot Thursday night following a dispute with several people, according to Kent police.
At about 9:43 p.m., Kent police responded to the shooting in the 10900 block of Southeast 256th Street. When officers arrived they found a man on the street suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he later died, police said.
The man's name and age have not been released.
Police said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the victim and several unknown people.
"Kent Police Detectives are currently following up on information provided by witnesses at the scene." Kent Police Lt. John Pagel said in a news release. "We're hopeful that somebody who witnessed the shooting will be able to identify the suspect."
Police this morning did not release any suspect information.
