One of the men was arrested at the scene. A second suspect ran off, with one of the cops in pursuit. He was arrested in the alley in the 500 block between Queen Anne Avenue North and First Avenue West.

The third man escaped.

Police said the Yellow Cab driver had picked up the three men at Third Avenue West and McGraw Street and had driven them to Queen Anne Avenue North and Mercer Street. The men refused to pay the $11 fare and fled.

The driver then spotted the three at a nearby business and asked for his money. That's when the men jumped the cabbie. The driver was bruised and battered from the assault, but didn't require medical attention.

The two suspects were booked for investigation of assault.
