Alert neighbor spoils Greenwood burglary

Posted by John de Leon

Thanks to a neighbor, Seattle police were able to corner a burglar before he had a chance to make off with property from a Greenwood home.

At about 9:40 Friday morning, police responded to the 700 block of North 90th Street after the witness reported seeing a man break out the back window of his neighbor's house and climb inside. The officers stationed themselves at the front and back of the house, preventing the burglar from escaping.

The burglar looked out the window and saw he had nowhere to go, according to police. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Youth Service Center. Police said the juvenile was attempting to take computer and other electronic equipment from the home.

The homeowner was contacted and returned home. All of his property was recovered.
