Posted by John de Leon
The Coast Guard early this morning suspended its search for a missing swimmer in Puget Sound near DuPont.
The search began after two men became separated from a third man about 100 yards from shore last night. The two men made it back to shore and called 911 around 9:30 p.m.
Two Coast Guard rescue boat crews from Coast Guard Station Seattle and a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Group/Air Station Port Angeles assisted the Anderson Island, Lakewood and DuPont fire departments as well as the Pierce County sheriff's dive team in the search. The search was suspended at 1:30 a.m.
The name of the missing man has not been released.
