South Snohomish County firefighters to observe 9-11

Firefighters with Snohomish County Fire District 1 will honor the sacrifices made by fellow firefighters and emergency service workers on Sept. 11, 2001, with a brief ceremony on Friday morning. At 6:55 a.m., firefighters will gather at the flag pole at each of district's eight fire stations and will observe a moment of silence at 6:58 a.m.
At 6:59 a.m., dispatchers will broadcast a memorial announcement.
The ceremony will honor the 343 firefighters who died at the World Trade Center during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks as well as others who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The locations of the fire stations:
-- Hilltop Fire Station, 20510 Damson Road, Lynnwood.
-- Hilton Lake Fire Station, 3525 108th Street S.E., Everett.
-- Lake Serene Fire Station, 4323 Serene Way, Lynnwood.
-- Mariner Fire Station (next to Mariner High School stadium), 12310 Meridian Ave., Everett.
-- Martha Lake Fire Station, 16819 13th Ave. W, Lynnwood
-- Mountlake Terrace Fire Station 18, 3900 228th St. S.W., Mountlake Terrace.
-- Mountlake Terrace Fire Station 19, 5902 232nd St. S.W., Mountlake Terrace.
-- Silver Firs Fire Station, 13611 Puget Park Drive, Everett.
Fire District 1 serves the cities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier, and the neighborhoods of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop, Hilton Lake and Pioneer Trails.
