Posted by John de Leon
A man was booked into jail early this morning on suspicion of stabbing a drinking buddy, according to Seattle police.
At 2:10 a.m, the suspect and victim were drinking at Carleton Avenue South just south of South Bailey Street when the two began to argue. According to a witness, the suspect accused the victim of stealing something. The witness walked outside and saw the suspect stab the victim in the back.
The witness called 911 and saw suspect standing over the victim and stabbing him several more times. The suspect turned and walked away and then he started running.
Officers found the suspect a short time later and he was identified by the witness.
Seattle Fire responded and transported the 49-year-old victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
