Police: Injured bicyclist may have run red light

Posted by John de Leon

A bicyclist suffered what Seattle police described as life-threatening head injuries when he was struck by a car at about 4:40 p.m. Monday at Fifth Avenue and Olive Way.

Police said the bicyclist, a 25-year-old man, may have ran a red light at the intersection when he was struck by a Lexus that was southbound on Fifth Avenue. Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for emergency care.

Police said the bicyclist wasn't wearing a helmet.
